Drawing up a seating plan for the reception can be one of the most taxing and time-consuming parts of pre-wedding planning. Trying to choreograph things so that old friends will have a chance to catch up, new friendships will be forged and relatives won't feel left out can tie everyone in knots. However, it's the best way to avoid an unseemly scramble for places and disappointed guests. Once the hard work is out of the way, reward yourself by having fun displaying your place cards and table numbers. Even though they're a small detail, they're an important one, helping to set the tone for the feast...

For slim figures, as proven by Princess Grace and Princess Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, it’s easy to see that the style of their wedding dresses were perfect for their body type.
Catherine was really comfortable in her wedding dress which for any bride inspires confidence. Her make-up was modern yet not over done and her hair classically simple. All in all, her style in years to come will not be dated.
Bravo to the couture House of Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton who really got it right.

The chuppah represents a Jewish home symbolized by the cloth canopy and the four poles. Just as a chuppah is open on all four sides, so was the tent of Abraham open for hospitality. Thus, the chuppah represents hospitality to one's guests. This "home" initially lacks furniture as a reminder that the basis of a Jewish home is the people within it, not the possessions. In a spiritual sense, the covering of the chuppah represents the presence of God over the covenant of marriage.
A chuppah can be made of any material, and can often be customized or personalized to suit the couple's unique...

With the royal wedding soon approaching, we’d like to take a moment to compare royal weddings from the past and present and give our readers a chance to choose which style of dress they think the future Princess Kate will wear on her wedding day. I was living in London at the time of the royal wedding of Lady Diana Spencer to Prince Charles. All of London was a buzz with speculation of what Diana would wear. I remember when she was sitting in the coach, you could only see the top half of her body, but when she stepped out in full view people were awestruck. The atmosphere was electric. I sat in front...

My marriage to Joseph was the happiest day of my life. You can see my joy in my face and eyes. Joseph arranged for such a lovely wedding for me. He wanted me to have it. We had a long-distance courtship, with Joseph living in Los Angeles and I in London.
I picked out my clothing and accessories in London, with the help of dear friends, Josephine and Peter, who owned a clothing store in Knightsbridge, London called A la Mode.
My dress was made by Antony Price, a dress designer, who currently designs for Camilla Parker-Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Charles’ wife. He had some...

Guests spend much of the reception seated so the way your tables are decorated can do much to set the mood and encourage a convivial atmosphere. A wedding reception is your opportunity to welcome and entertain your guests. It’s a thank you to everyone for coming and a group celebration of a joyous occasion.
Taking the time and trouble to plan attractive table settings shows how much you value your guests. Table settings are viewed close up, so small details will not go unnoticed. Color is a good place to start when planning your table setting. An all white scheme is easy to put together...

For Elaine Caplan Events it was so much fun being involved with the David Tutera Event at the Oceanfront Hilton on January 15th. There was a wonderful atmosphere of camaraderie among all the vendors. David himself is a very sweet man, and it was a lot of fun.
We had the opportunity of designing the canopy which was were David gave his presentation that evening. We used a blush-colored pin-tuck silk with a crystal chandelier hanging from the center, a white dance floor, and the most beautiful arrangements of cream-colored roses as holdbacks.
As wedding designers we have the opportunity...
